Curricular Structure

Disciplinas

The Program consists of the following curricular components, offered on a semestral basis: Courses, Seminars in Science Education, Orientation Seminars (supervised internship), Teaching Internship and Scientific Production.

The Program has a mandatory course, named Seminar in Science Education (4cr), in which students must prove 60 (sixty) activities for the Master's course and 100 (one hundred) for the Doctorate. Of this total, 75% (twenty-five percent) must be from project presentations by PPGEC-FURG students held every fortnight within the Seminar. Within the scope of the Program, 25% of these activities can be obtained through participation outside the PPGEC, such as lectures, participation in defenses or qualifications of dissertations or theses, workshops, congresses, seminars and others.

The Teaching Internship is mandatory for scholarship students and elective for others.

The student may take courses offered in other Postgraduate courses on the subject of dissertation or thesis research and/or with Science Education, with the agreement of the advisor, respecting the limit of 1/3 outside the Program.

A minimum attendance of 75% in all Program activities is mandatory, in accordance with the University's regulations.

For the Masters course, 24 credits must be completed and for the Doctorate, 36 credits. The deadlines for completing the master's are 12 to 24 months and 24 to 48 months for a doctorate, both extendable according to the Internal Regulations.
